SATEC DUST MONITOR — Seed Dust Control

A logical response to the «dust-free seed» requirement. The device uses photometric technology to analyze dust levels in seed samples that are continuously collected from production immediately before the packaging line.

Characteristics
Device capabilities: Results correlate well with values from the Heubach method
Operates automatically in the background, using an automatic sampler during treatment
Records measurement results
Can intervene in the treater's control system — e.g. stopping when threshold values are exceeded
Detects even very low dust concentrations per kg of seed: system sensitivity is adjusted via several configurable parameters, so the operator sets the threshold freely
Shows changes in production quality over time: forms not a single average per batch, but several intermediate measurements with exact timestamps
Adapts to practically any brand of treating equipment, so the measured dust level is integrated into the machine's data records
Can be installed at any point in production — e.g. for grain it is set up before the treater to determine dust levels before product application
Approved by the Julius Kühn Institute (Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants, Germany)
Measurement process: Samples are continuously collected by the automatic sampler and accumulated in the device's hopper
Once the preset quantity has accumulated (level sensor), the sample is dropped via a tube into the final receiving container, from which an average sample is later taken
The dust level of the falling seed is measured photometrically; measurements are recorded once per second and displayed as a curve
This way, an arbitrary number of measurement points per batch is recorded and evaluated, and their maximum values are shown on screen
Evaluation: Data is stored on a USB drive and/or online in the recipe records of the treater's control system
Control parameters are displayed directly on the device or on the treater's display
Any audible or visual alarm device can be connected
Other applications: Dust measurement can also be performed outside of treating — in the lab, for checking returns and remaining stock
Suitable for dust control not only of seed, but of a wide range of bulk goods
What this delivers: Maximum confidence already at the production stage
Minimized risk of batch rejection
Reduced liability burden on staff
